Job Description
Weekend Requirement:
- On call 1-2 weekend per month
On Call Requirement:
- 8-12 day of call
Job Summary:
- Performs diagnostic and interventional procedures as requested by physicians.
- Provides care for patients while obtaining diagnostic quality images for interpretation by a Radiologist/Cardiologist.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Graduation from accredited radiologic technology program.
Certification/Licenses:
- ARRT and New Mexico State licensure required.
- BLS certification required.
- ACLS obtained within one year.
- Certification issued by ARRT applicable to cardiac or vascular intervention (CV, CI or VI), or RCIS Certification.
Skills:
- Thorough knowledge of associated radiographic equipment, neurological and cardiovascular anatomy and physiology, radiographic positioning, medical terminology and basic computer skills.
- Thorough knowledge of interventional procedures in Cardiology and Radiology preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English.
Experience:
- One year radiologic experience required and one year interventional or cath lab experience preferred.
Environment:
- Bloodborne pathogen – C.
- Exposure to various body fluids and ionizing radiation.
