Job Summary:
- Under the general supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, the Respiratory Therapist provides life-support, resuscitation, monitoring, and medical gas therapies to patients.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performing invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures for Intensive Care and General Practice Unit patients.
- The therapist maintains clinical expertise for departmental assignments across various business units, communicates effectively with patients, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members, and accurately documents all aspects of patient care.
- Additional duties include supervising and delegating tasks to Respiratory Therapists, orientees, externs, and students as assigned, as well as completing accurate patient billing documentation.
Required Education:
- Associate of Science Degree, from an accredited Respiratory Therapist program.
Preferred Education:
- Bachelors in Respiratory Therapy preferred.
Required Certification & Licensure:
- Registration with the National Board of Respiratory Care.
- Current License – Respiratory Therapist in the State of Michigan.
- BLS.
- Candidates must be registered with the NBRC and NRP certified.
Experience:
- Minimum of two (2) years of recent Respiratory Therapist experience
