Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Performs MRI studies under the direction of a radiologist and oversight of a senior MRI Technologist.
  • This individual interacts with imaging staff, nursing, physicians, patients and visitors.
  • Acts as a resource person for MRI technical, and other issues, and demonstrates competence according to specific guidelines and prescribed protocols.
  • Operates MRI and related equipment, prepares scan room – equipment, supplies and medications.
  • This individual also maintains images and archives associated with patient data.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Licensure Required:

  • ARRT registered is required.
  • Advanced certification through ARRT in ARRT-MR is required within 18 months of hire.
  • For those sites requiring advanced certification in MRI & CT, MR must be achieved within the first 18 months.
  • CT certification must be achieved within 30 months of hire date.
  • BCLS certified within 90 days of hire date.
  • State of WI license in Radiologic Technology if incumbent performs CT, general radiography or any other imaging using ionizing radiation; if practice is limited to MRI and/or Ultrasound, no state license is required.

Required Education:

  • Graduate of an JCERT approved two-year radiologic technology program is required.

Preferred Education:

  • Two or four year college degree in radiologic technology, healthcare, business or other related degree is preferred.
  • Successful completion of a cross-sectional anatomy class is required.

Languages:

  • English( Speak, Read, Write).

Minimum Degree Required:

  • Completed High School (Diploma or GED).
