Sterile Processing Technician
Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the decontamination, preparation, sterilization, and storage of reusable surgical instruments and supplies.
Ensures sterile items are:
- Delivered to the correct location.
- Delivered on time.
- In proper condition.
- Accurately identified.
- Maintains documentation and records of sterilization processes.
- Conducts monitoring and testing of equipment and sterilization procedures to ensure compliance with regulations.
Required Certifications:
- Sterile Processing Certification: Must be currently certified through IAHCSMM or ASHCSP.
- BLS Certification: Must be current and issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Client Coversheet: Required to be attached to candidate submission/profile.
- Strong understanding of infection control, sterilization standards, and equipment handling is required.
- Candidate must be able to work independently and ensure strict compliance with hospital protocols.
