Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
- At the direction of a radiologist or other providers, prepares patients and performs radiographic procedures in diagnostic radiology and operates imaging equipment.
- Performs diagnostic studies according to specific guidelines
- Performs radiologic/fluoroscopic procedures accurately and efficiently with the least amount of discomfort to the patient.
- Interviews patients to obtain personal medical history, documenting this information into RIS.
- Follows EPIC workflow from order entry/verification to end exam including notes, medication documentation and supply charges where applicable, in a comprehensive and timely manner.
- Demonstrates flexibility in scheduling reassignment and shift rotations to support departmental needs (including weekend, call and holiday rotations as applicable).
- Provide a positive teaching and learning environment for staff, students/interns, providers and visitors.
- Acts as a mentor and role model.
- Assists in onboarding of new employees.
- Observes malfunctioning equipment and follows proper procedure to report equipment issues.
- Follows proper procedure to report equipment issues.
- Provides minor troubleshooting.
Education:
- Post high school completion of an ARRT-accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- 1–2 years of additional college/university coursework or an undergraduate healthcare-related degree.
Licensure & Certifications:
- ARRT registered RT (R) in diagnostic radiology.
- Current Wisconsin State license as a Radiographer.
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Provider or equivalent.
Required Skills & Experience:
- One year of current clinical experience OR clinical student experience.
- Self-motivated and well-organized.
- Ability to prioritize and remain flexible during emergencies.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- One year of current experience in diagnostic radiology.
