Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform designated respiratory care and pulmonary diagnostic procedures in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Provide treatment, management, and diagnostic evaluation of patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities.
- Perform therapeutic treatments and diagnostic testing involving medical gases, environmental control systems, humidification, and aerosols.
- Administer medications to the cardiopulmonary system.
- Provide ventilatory support, including maintenance and management of life support systems.
- Perform bronchopulmonary clearance and breathing exercises.
- Conduct patient education and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
- Maintain natural and artificial airways.
- Perform duties in critical care and non-critical care areas for patients of all ages.

Education:
- Associate Degree from a Co ARC-accredited Respiratory Care program – Required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Care – Preferred.
Licensure & Certifications:
- Current State of Wisconsin License as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) – Required.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) – Required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – Required.
- American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) and Wisconsin Society for Respiratory Care (WSRC) membership – Preferred.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of worked or educational clinical experience in both general and critical care.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in a hospital setting providing respiratory care.
