Job Description
Job Summary:
- The MRI Technologist, under the general supervision of a Radiologist, performs high-quality magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients as ordered by a physician or licensed provider.
- The technologist ensures accurate imaging for diagnosis while adhering to established protocols and safety standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform MRI procedures according to established exam protocols in a timely manner.
- Verify patient identity and ensure correct exam is performed.
- Prepare and position patients appropriately for imaging.
- Screen patients for MRI safety compliance.
- Maintain equipment functionality and report issues as needed.
- Adhere to infection control, radiation safety, and regulatory standards.
- Accurately document imaging procedures and maintain medical records.
- Educate patients and families regarding procedures and expectations.
- Provide support during emergency situations when required.
Required Qualifications:
- ARRT or ARMRIT certification.
- BLS (AHA only).
- Minimum 2 years of MRI experience.
- Experience working with client-specific MRI equipment.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of MRI imaging protocols and equipment.
- Ability to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and patient care skills.
- Strong attention to detail and safety compliance.
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems.
