Job Description

Job Summary:

  • The MRI Technologist, under the general supervision of a Radiologist, performs high-quality magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients as ordered by a physician or licensed provider.
  • The technologist ensures accurate imaging for diagnosis while adhering to established protocols and safety standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform MRI procedures according to established exam protocols in a timely manner.
  • Verify patient identity and ensure correct exam is performed.
  • Prepare and position patients appropriately for imaging.
  • Screen patients for MRI safety compliance.
  • Maintain equipment functionality and report issues as needed.
  • Adhere to infection control, radiation safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Accurately document imaging procedures and maintain medical records.
  • Educate patients and families regarding procedures and expectations.
  • Provide support during emergency situations when required.

Required Qualifications:

  • ARRT or ARMRIT certification.
  • BLS (AHA only).
  • Minimum 2 years of MRI experience.
  • Experience working with client-specific MRI equipment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of MRI imaging protocols and equipment.
  • Ability to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and patient care skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and safety compliance.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems.
