Radiology Technologist

Job Description

Job Summary:

• The Radiologic Technologist performs high-quality diagnostic radiology procedures under the supervision of a Radiologist.
• This position supports a busy Level I Trauma Emergency Department and requires the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment while maintaining imaging quality and patient safety standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform diagnostic radiology procedures according to established exam protocols.
• Ensure proper patient identification and exam verification.
• Demonstrate understanding of radiation dose monitoring and safety standards.
• Prepare and position patients appropriately for imaging procedures.
• Maintain compliance with infection control, radiation safety, and regulatory policies.
• Screen patients prior to imaging to ensure safety compliance.
• Maintain equipment functionality and report operational concerns.
• Accurately document imaging procedures within the EMR system.
• Provide care to patients across all age groups.

Required Qualifications:

• ARRT certification.
• Texas Medical Board (TMB) license.
• BLS (AHA only).
• Minimum 3 years of Radiologic Technology experience.
• Experience with Epic EMR.
• Experience with Visage (preferred).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Strong knowledge of radiology imaging protocols and trauma imaging.
• Ability to remain calm and efficient in a fast-paced ED setting.
• Excellent communication and patient care skills.
• Strong attention to detail and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workflow independently.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a high-volume Level I Trauma ED
