Job Description
Job Summary:
- The Registered Pharmacist is responsible for promoting optimal pharmaceutical care by managing the medication-use process, identifying and preventing potential drug-related problems, and resolving actual medication-related issues.
- All duties are performed in a developmentally appropriate manner for patients ranging from infant through adult, in alignment with clients standards and policies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Verify the appropriateness of medication doses based on patient diagnosis, weight/body surface area, allergies, and potential drug interactions.
- Accurately enter and verify medication orders within the electronic medical record to ensure patient safety and effective therapy.
- Ensure accurate medication dispensing to prevent errors and maintain high-quality patient care.
- Process medication orders and ensure timely preparation and delivery in accordance with established guidelines and service standards.
- Adhere to aseptic technique and infection control practices during the preparation of sterile products.
- Ensure pharmacy technicians and fellow pharmacists comply with aseptic and infection control standards.
- Complete annual aseptic technique and infection control re-certification, achieving a minimum score of 90% on both skills validation and written examination.
Requirements:
- Required- Bachelor’s Degree Pharmacy Or Ph.D. Pharm. D. degree.
- Required- RPH – Pharmacist State of Texas “The pharmacist in this role shall be a licensed practitioner who holds a valid, unrestricted license to conduct clinical activities.”
