Job Description

Job Summary:

  • Provide direct patient care and support the healthcare team in delivering age-appropriate care.
  • Collect and accurately document patient information, vital signs, medications, allergies, and other clinical data.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collect patient and family information according to established protocols.
  • Record vital signs, BMI, height/weight, and reason for visit accurately.
  • Update patient records regarding care received at other locations.
  • Document medications, allergies, and other required information.
  • Assist with pediatric assessments and clinical procedures.
  • Perform nebulizer treatments, ear irrigation, and dressing changes.
  • Collect specimens and perform basic laboratory procedures.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and follow OSHA/CLIA guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and the healthcare team.
  • Adapt to different mobile clinic locations and work effectively as part of a team.

Required Education:

  • H.S. Diploma or GED.
  • Graduation from a medical assistant or emergency medical technician program.

Required Certifications & Licensure:

  • BLS – Cert-Basic Life Support from AHA.
  • CCMA – Cert-Cert Clinical MA – CCMA National Health Career Association (NHA). OR
  • CMA-AAM – Cert-Cert Medical Assistant American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA).
  • EMT – Emergency Medical Technology Texas Department of State Health Services. OR
  • EMT-A – Advanced EMT Texas Department of State Health Services. OR
  • EMT-B – Emergency Medical Technology -Basic Texas Department of State Health Services. OR
  • EMT-I – Emergency Medical Technology -Interm Texas Department of State Health Services. OR
  • EMT-P – Emergency Medical Technology -Parame Texas Department of State Health Services. OR
  • LIC PAR – Licensed -Paramedic Texas Department of State Health Services. OR
  • NCMA – National Cert Med Assistant National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT). OR
  • NRCMA – Nat Reg Cert Med Assistant National Association of Health Professionals (NAHP). OR
  • RMA – Registered Medical Assistant American Association of Medical Personnel, American Allied Health, American Medical Technologist, or American Registry of Medical Assistants.

Skills & Experience:

  • Knowledge of pediatric assessment, medical terminology, and basic clinical procedures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bilingual and 1+ year of experience preferred.
