Job Summary:
- We are seeking an experienced Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) Sonographer to perform advanced high-risk obstetric ultrasound examinations in an ambulatory setting.
- The sonographer will work closely with MFM physicians and the clinical team to evaluate fetal development, maternal and fetal anatomy, and vascular structures in complex pregnancies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform advanced high-risk OB ultrasound examinations.
- Perform Level II fetal anatomy scans, including single and multiple gestations.
- Perform fetal echocardiograms, nuchal translucency and first-trimester screenings.
- Perform BPPs, growth scans, fetal growth assessments, cervical length evaluations, and Doppler studies.
- Perform Client A and umbilical vein Doppler studies.
- Provide ultrasound guidance for procedures such as amniocentesis.
- Obtain high-quality diagnostic images according to established protocols.
- Recognize normal and abnormal findings and communicate relevant observations to the supervising physician.
- Prepare images and documentation for physician review.
- Ensure patient safety, comfort, privacy, and clear communication throughout examinations.
- Maintain and operate ultrasound equipment safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate with MFM physicians, nurses, sonographers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Follow departmental, hospital, HIPAA, infection control, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in quality improvement, education, case reviews, and department activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of high-risk obstetric ultrasound experience in a hospital or Maternal Fetal Medicine setting.
- Experience with advanced MFM/OB ultrasound procedures.
- Ability to differentiate normal and abnormal sonographic findings.
- Strong communication and patient-care skills.
- A skilled MFM/OB Sonographer with hands-on experience in high-risk pregnancies, Level II anatomy scans, fetal echocardiography, Doppler studies, BPPs, growth scans, and first-trimester screening.
