Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform CT examinations according to established protocols under the supervision of radiologists.
  • Ensure patient safety and provide age-appropriate patient care during imaging procedures.
  • Obtain and verify correct orders, diagnoses, and clinical history.
  • Prepare and instruct patients regarding CT procedures and obtain informed consent when required.
  • Operate CT imaging equipment efficiently while minimizing repeat examinations.
  • Assist radiologists with procedures as needed.
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic images for interpretation.
  • Communicate effectively with radiologists, patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and files.
  • Assist with clinical education and supervision of student Radiologic Technologists.
  • Follow radiation safety practices, including ALARA principles.
  • Comply with OSHA, DHEC, FDA, TJC, hospital, and departmental policies.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and support quality and departmental improvement initiatives.
  • May be required to work weekends, holidays, irregular hours, and participate in call rotation.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Graduate of an accredited Allied Health program preferred.
  • Completion of an accredited Computed Tomography program preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred.
  • ARRT registration in Radiologic Technology required.
  • ARRT CT certification/registration preferred.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification required.
  • Must demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, DHEC, FDA, and TJC standards and regulations.
  • Ability to perform CT examinations and produce satisfactory diagnostic images.
  • Must be comfortable with radiation exposure, patient lifting/moving, and working in a healthcare environment.

Preferences:

  • CT certification/registration through ARRT.
  • Accredited CT program completion.
  • Prior Radiologic Technologist experience.
  • Experience teaching or supervising student technologists.
  • Strong CT technical and diagnostic imaging skills.
