Job Description

Job Summary:

• Under general supervision, provides respiratory therapy services across all age groups and department areas in a timely and efficient manner.
• Supports patient care, diagnostic testing, and emergency response as required.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Administers prescribed respiratory treatments and therapies.
• Records treatment details and patient responses in electronic medical records.
• Serves as a resource to medical staff regarding respiratory care.
• Performs invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing and patient monitoring.
• Delivers age-appropriate patient care.
• Ensures proper cleaning, maintenance, and functionality of respiratory equipment.
• Maintains accurate respiratory therapy documentation and records.
• Participates in quick response teams for cardiac and respiratory emergencies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred:

• 2 years of respiratory care experience in a critical care setting.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of respiratory therapy procedures, techniques, and equipment operation/repair.
• Strong clinical decision-making skills appropriate for pulmonary and cardiac care.
• Ability to interpret patient information to identify care needs.
• Ability to perform under stressful conditions.
• Effective interpersonal skills and ability to maintain professional relationships.
• Basic computer skills.
