Job Description

Job Summary:

  • Under general supervision, performs advanced professional radiographic and fluoroscopic imaging.
  • May circulate to other diagnostic areas such as surgery, trauma, or pediatrics.
  • Recognized as an expert in the field or participates in training programs to enhance skills in other specialized radiology modalities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate standard and portable radiology equipment for radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations, including IV pyelography, cystography, gastrointestinal series, and body section radiography.
  • Assist physicians during specialized imaging procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment or film output issues.
  • Serve as a resource and preceptor for other Radiographers and students.
  • Participate in training programs to develop skills in CT, MRI, or Special Procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records, inventory, and equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements:

  • Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited program in a cardiovascular specialty.
  • Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited radiologic technology program.
  • Associate’s degree or higher preferred.

Certifications & Licenses:

  • Current credentials required upon hire/advancement from ARDMS, ARRT, and/or CCI in the relevant specialty.
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS).

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Knowledge of diagnostic radiography techniques and equipment operation/maintenance.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and assess/treat patients of all ages.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of explaining procedures to patients and families clearly.
  • Computer proficiency.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum one year full-time experience as a certified or registered cardiovascular or radiologic technology professional in the specialty relevant to the department.
