Certified Surgical Technician

Job Description

Job Summary:

• Responsible for planning and preparing for the surgical procedure and assisting the surgeon.
• Responsible for sterilization of surgical equipment and to assemble scheduled and emergency case carts.

Education:

• High School diploma or equivalency – Required.

Certifications & Licensure:

• BLS certification required.
• Certification and registration as a Certified Surgical Technologist – Required.
• NBSTSA Certification as a surgical technologist (CST) required.

Experience:

• 2 years of scrubbing experience in an operating room setting.

Skills:

• Good communication skills.

Additional Requirements:

• Must live 100 miles away.

On-Call Requirement:

• Alternate between primary and secondary which equals about 2 days of call through 7 days and that also means about every 4th weekend in some capacity.
