Job Summary:
- Ensures that the evaluation of Radiology procedures, equipment and staff are administered in a fashion that is accurate, timely, responsive and reliable.
- Customers served include Client employees, Medical Staff, patients and regulatory agencies.
- Priority will be given to activities that directly affect customer service.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates the ability to perform routine portable and fluoroscopic procedures, as well as operating room procedures, as requested by referring physicians as well as providing all required documentation on requisition.
- Establishes effective communication with referring physicians, radiologists, ancillary departments and customers to ensure quality patient care is rendered.
- Ensures proper safety procedures are met, and radiation safety practices are adhered to according to ALARA principles.
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of Client information service systems.
- Provides patient education and thorough documentation to provide the best quality of care for all patient needs.
- Adheres to appropriate and accepted clinical principles, methods and procedures while performing or supervising imaging and radiologic diagnostic procedures.
- Complies with all hospital policies and procedures pertaining to incident reporting.
- Additional duties as assigned by the department.
Required Education:
- Associate’s degree in radiologic technology.
Required Certifications & Licensure:
- New York State license as Radiologic Technologist.
- ARRT(R) Registration.
- BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or client).
