Job Summary:
- The X-Ray Technologist is responsible for operating radiologic imaging equipment to capture diagnostic images.
- This role includes preparing patients for procedures, ensuring safety protocols are followed, maintaining equipment, and supporting a clean and compliant work environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establish rapport with patients to understand and support their care needs.
- Explain procedures and reduce patient anxiety to encourage cooperation.
- Accurate position patients and adjust imaging equipment as needed.
- Apply radiation protection protocols to ensure safety for patients and staff.
- Process and evaluate radiographs, adjusting procedures as necessary.
- Maintain accurate documentation in patient and department records.
- Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot radiology equipment.
- Monitor and manage inventory of radiologic supplies.
- Comply with all safety, infection control, and operational policies.
- Engage in continuous education and maintain regulatory CME requirements.
- Support departmental goals by contributing to team objectives.
- Complete annual Age Specific Competency and any other assigned duties.
Education:
- Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology.
Licensure/Certification:
- New York State License (L.R.T).
- ARRT Certification (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists).
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years in diagnostic radiology.
