Job Description

Job Summary:

  • The X-Ray Technologist is responsible for operating radiologic imaging equipment to capture diagnostic images.
  • This role includes preparing patients for procedures, ensuring safety protocols are followed, maintaining equipment, and supporting a clean and compliant work environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish rapport with patients to understand and support their care needs.
  • Explain procedures and reduce patient anxiety to encourage cooperation.
  • Accurate position patients and adjust imaging equipment as needed.
  • Apply radiation protection protocols to ensure safety for patients and staff.
  • Process and evaluate radiographs, adjusting procedures as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in patient and department records.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot radiology equipment.
  • Monitor and manage inventory of radiologic supplies.
  • Comply with all safety, infection control, and operational policies.
  • Engage in continuous education and maintain regulatory CME requirements.
  • Support departmental goals by contributing to team objectives.
  • Complete annual Age Specific Competency and any other assigned duties.

Education:

  • Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology.

Licensure/Certification:

  • New York State License (L.R.T).
  • ARRT Certification (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists).

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years in diagnostic radiology.
