Job Description
Job Summary:
- The Pharmacist Level 1 serves patients by preparing medications; giving pharmacological information to multidisciplinary health care team; monitoring patient drug therapies.
Education and Experience:
- B.S. or Pharmacy Degree from a U.S. accredited School of Pharmacy.
- Inpatient preferred.
- Graduate from an accredited College of Pharmacy (ACPE).
- 0-2 years as licensed Pharmacist
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong clinical expertise and communication skills, sound professional judgment.
- Proficiency with infusion- and EHR-related systems, and the ability to manage operations in a fast-paced environment.
- Dispenses medications accurately and in a timely fashion.
- Resolves questions regarding formulary and non-formulary medications, following policies and procedures.
- Provides dosing and therapeutic recommendations that take patient age/kinetic based on literature.
- Performs patient education, including but not limited to, proper dose as prescribed, taking meds on time, side effects if any, interaction with other drugs patient might be taking, all as per department requirements.
