Job Description
Job Summary:
- The CT Technologist will perform diagnostic CT procedures using appropriate imaging techniques and protocols, ensuring high-quality diagnostic images.
- The role requires a strong focus on patient care, safety, and adherence to radiation safety guidelines (ALARA principle).
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize proper kV and mA techniques to produce high-quality CT images.
- Perform daily equipment calibration and quality control checks.
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals per physician order and protocol.
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with department and regulatory standards.
- Conduct quality assurance and safety tests; adhere to radiation safety guidelines.
- Retrieve, maintain, and process patient imaging data for radiologist interpretation.
- Order and verify patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses and activity levels before use.
- Ensure safe handling and receipt verification of radiopharmaceuticals.
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of CT experience required.
- 2 years CT experience preferred.
- Experience with Client scanner systems highly preferred.
Certifications/ Licensure:
- New York State Radiologic Technologist License (L.R.T.).
- ARRT certification in Radiography.
- ARRT certification in CT.
- BLS certification.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to follow CT imaging protocols accurately.
- Strong patient care and communication skills.
- Knowledge of radiation safety and quality control procedures.
