Job Description

Job Summary:

  • The CT Technologist will perform diagnostic CT procedures using appropriate imaging techniques and protocols, ensuring high-quality diagnostic images.
  • The role requires a strong focus on patient care, safety, and adherence to radiation safety guidelines (ALARA principle).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize proper kV and mA techniques to produce high-quality CT images.
  • Perform daily equipment calibration and quality control checks.
  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals per physician order and protocol.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with department and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct quality assurance and safety tests; adhere to radiation safety guidelines.
  • Retrieve, maintain, and process patient imaging data for radiologist interpretation.
  • Order and verify patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses and activity levels before use.
  • Ensure safe handling and receipt verification of radiopharmaceuticals.

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.

Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of CT experience required.
  • 2 years CT experience preferred.
  • Experience with Client scanner systems highly preferred.

Certifications/ Licensure:

  • New York State Radiologic Technologist License (L.R.T.).
  • ARRT certification in Radiography.
  • ARRT certification in CT.
  • BLS certification.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to follow CT imaging protocols accurately.
  • Strong patient care and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of radiation safety and quality control procedures.
