Job Description
Job Summary:
- Provide advanced ECG monitoring while assessing patient status through ECG strip analysis and arrhythmia interpretation, identifying and responding to potentially life-threatening rhythm changes, initiating codes, recording rhythms during codes, performing continuous.
- EKG monitoring with accurate interpretation of cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias, troubleshooting monitoring problems, and appropriately responding to all monitor alarms.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform electrocardiograms in multiple settings including proper electrode placement.
- Communicate appropriately and clearly with charge nurses, co-workers, and physicians.
- Enter and verify orders in the computer system.
- Retrieve laboratory results from the computer system and bring results to the attention of the charge nurse.
- Ensure documentation meets current standards and organizational policies.
- Manage and operate monitoring and medical equipment safely and correctly.
