Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares patient for EEG exam, applies electrodes to patient’s head, operates and maintains appropriate equipment, identifies tracing, prepares records.
Required Education:
- High school diploma or its educational equivalent, approved by a State’s Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization.
- One (1) year of experience as an Electroencephalograph Technician in a hospital or health care setting.
- Satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and experience, where Certificate of Completion from the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET) recognized training program.
- Graduate from Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited program may be substituted for one (1) year of experience.
Required Certifications & Licensure:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA).
Required Skills & Experience:
- One (1) year of EEG Technologist experience.
