Job Description

Job Summary:

  • Performs MRI procedures ensuring patient safety, quality imaging, and adherence to standards.
  • Screens patients for MRI safety and explains procedures clearly.
  • Operates MRI equipment, adjusting parameters for optimal diagnostic imaging.
  • Positions patients and uses immobilization devices appropriately.
  • Maintains cleanliness, organization, and safety of MRI suite and scanners.
  • Conducts image quality checks, documents procedures in EMR, and ensures proper image labeling.
  • Collaborates with radiologists and team members and supports equipment maintenance and inventory.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • One (1) year of MRI experience – Required
  • Experience in Level 1 Trauma Center – Required
  • Knowledge of GE and Philips equipment – Required

Education:

  • Associate’s degree from a Radiologic Technology program – Required

Licensure & Certifications:

  • Valid NYS Radiologic Technologist license – Required
  • Certification and registration in Magnetic Resonance Imaging from ARRT or ARMRIT – Required

Preferred Certifications:

  • BLS (AHA) – Preferred
