Job Description
Job Summary:
- The MRI Technologist will operate under the direction of the Medical Director, Section Head, Clinical Specialist, Manager, and Radiologist in a fast-paced Level I Trauma.
- The technologist performs diagnostic MRI procedures for a variety of patients including trauma, emergency, inpatients, outpatients, and research participants.
- They ensure high-quality imaging, safety compliance, and an exceptional patient experience while adapting to technological advancements in the field.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform MRI scans as ordered by physicians for trauma, emergency room, outpatient, and inpatient cases.
- Handle critically ill and ICU patients, including MRI-guided procedures.
- Operate advanced MRI imaging equipment safely and effectively.
- Ensure adherence to all safety regulations, especially magnetic field safety.
- Document procedures and maintain patient records accurately.
- Maintain patient comfort, care, and privacy during procedures.
- Collaborate with physicians and other staff to optimize imaging results.
- Participate in ongoing education and training programs.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum 2 years recent MRI Tech experience – Required.
- Associate Degree in Applied Science or approved Imaging Program – Required.
Certification / License:
- ARRT (MRI) – Required upon hire.
State License:
- New York State Registration or Limited Permit to practice in NY – Required upon hire.
BLS Certification:
- American Heart Association BLS – Required upon hire.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift/move patients and operate MRI equipment for extended hours.
