Job Description

Job Summary:

  • The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist works under the direction of the Medical Director, Section Head, Clinical Specialist, Manager, and Radiologist.
  • The technologist performs CT imaging procedures and assists in patient care at a fast-paced Level I Trauma and Academic Medical Center.

CT Technologists handle imaging for:

  • Trauma & emergency cases
  • Inpatients (including ICU)
  • Outpatients
  • Research patients
  • CT-guided procedures
  • They must enforce radiation safety protocols in compliance with New York State Department of Health Code Part 16 and contribute to teaching and continuous learning in a dynamic clinical environment.

Education:

  • Graduate of an approved two-year AMA Radiologic Technology School.
  • High school graduate (minimum requirement: High school + 1 year post-secondary education).

Licensure, Certification & Registration:

  • New York State Registration in Diagnostic Radiography OR Limited Permit to practice in NY
    ARRT (CT) – Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ( Required).
  • Current BLS for Healthcare Provider / CPR / CPR-AED for the Professional Rescuer ( Required).

Experience:

  • Entry-level technologists may be considered based on skill set and assigned MIT level.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of CT protocols, anatomy, and emergency/trauma care.
  • Knowledge of radiation safety measures.
  • Ability to provide safe, compassionate, and high-quality patient care in a high-acuity setting.
  • Collaborative mindset to support interdisciplinary teams and patient flow efficiency.
