Job Description
Job Summary:
- The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist works under the direction of the Medical Director, Section Head, Clinical Specialist, Manager, and Radiologist.
- The technologist performs CT imaging procedures and assists in patient care at a fast-paced Level I Trauma and Academic Medical Center.
CT Technologists handle imaging for:
- Trauma & emergency cases
- Inpatients (including ICU)
- Outpatients
- Research patients
- CT-guided procedures
- They must enforce radiation safety protocols in compliance with New York State Department of Health Code Part 16 and contribute to teaching and continuous learning in a dynamic clinical environment.
Education:
- Graduate of an approved two-year AMA Radiologic Technology School.
- High school graduate (minimum requirement: High school + 1 year post-secondary education).
Licensure, Certification & Registration:
- New York State Registration in Diagnostic Radiography OR Limited Permit to practice in NY
ARRT (CT) – Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ( Required). - Current BLS for Healthcare Provider / CPR / CPR-AED for the Professional Rescuer ( Required).
Experience:
- Entry-level technologists may be considered based on skill set and assigned MIT level.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong understanding of CT protocols, anatomy, and emergency/trauma care.
- Knowledge of radiation safety measures.
- Ability to provide safe, compassionate, and high-quality patient care in a high-acuity setting.
- Collaborative mindset to support interdisciplinary teams and patient flow efficiency.
