Job Summary:
- Under general supervision and following established policies and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic CT exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment (Client Sensation).
- Verify patient identity and review medical records to ensure appropriateness of the exam or procedure.
- Interview patients to obtain, verify, or update medical histories, and assess risk factors such as medications, pregnancy, and psychological indicators.
- Explain procedures to patients, including the side effects of pharmaceuticals, risks, benefits, alternatives, and follow-up instructions.
- Set up equipment and acquire appropriate images as per the script.
- Review images, make initial observations, document any deviations from protocol, and communicate relevant data to the radiologist.
- Recognize and respond to medical emergencies as appropriate.
- Provide physician-prescribed post-care instructions to patients.
- Participate in process improvement activities, including but not limited to:
Additional Duties:
- Quality of care.
- Patient flow.
- Reject-repeat analysis.
- Patient satisfaction.
- Provide imaging education to residents, student technologists, and new employees.
- Be available for call/standby shifts as required by the department.
- May perform duties of a Radiologic Technologist as needed.
Certifications:
- ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology (R) and Computed Tomography (CT).
- BLS certification (must be through the American Heart Association and attached to submission).
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as both a Radiologic and CT Technologist.
- Must be familiar with Client Sensation CT machine.
- Experience with digital X-ray equipment required.
