Job Description

Job Summary:

  • Under general supervision and following established policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic CT exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment (Client Sensation).
  • Verify patient identity and review medical records to ensure appropriateness of the exam or procedure.
  • Interview patients to obtain, verify, or update medical histories, and assess risk factors such as medications, pregnancy, and psychological indicators.
  • Explain procedures to patients, including the side effects of pharmaceuticals, risks, benefits, alternatives, and follow-up instructions.
  • Set up equipment and acquire appropriate images as per the script.
  • Review images, make initial observations, document any deviations from protocol, and communicate relevant data to the radiologist.
  • Recognize and respond to medical emergencies as appropriate.
  • Provide physician-prescribed post-care instructions to patients.
  • Participate in process improvement activities, including but not limited to:

Additional Duties:

  • Quality of care.
  • Patient flow.
  • Reject-repeat analysis.
  • Patient satisfaction.
  • Provide imaging education to residents, student technologists, and new employees.
  • Be available for call/standby shifts as required by the department.
  • May perform duties of a Radiologic Technologist as needed.

Certifications:

  • ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology (R) and Computed Tomography (CT).
  • BLS certification (must be through the American Heart Association and attached to submission).

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as both a Radiologic and CT Technologist.
  • Must be familiar with Client Sensation CT machine.
  • Experience with digital X-ray equipment required.
