Job Description
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform complex CT procedures and produce sectional and three-dimensional images.
- Review patient history, prescriptions, and contrast questionnaires and document information in EPIC/PACS.
- Verify exam appropriateness and communicate with radiologists/referring physicians regarding protocols or prescription clarification.
- Administer appropriate contrast media and perform venipuncture, IV patency, and maintenance procedures.
- Evaluate radiographs using PACS to ensure proper identification and diagnostic quality.
- Prepare and position patients using appropriate shielding and immobilization devices.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions during procedures.
- Provide clear procedure instructions and address/document patient questions and concerns.
- Obtain and schedule outside studies in EPIC so images and reports are available in PACS.
- Modify care based on patient age, culture, language, and individual needs.
- Lift at least 25 lbs., push/pull at least 50 lbs., and stand at least 6 hours per day.
Required Experience & Skills:
- Minimum 1 year experience per schedule notes; 6 months CT experience preferred.
- CT Scan experience.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology and radiological positioning.
- Understanding of CT software and hardware.
- Thorough knowledge of PACS.
- Maintains CEU credits.
- Epic.
- HIS/RIS systems.
Required Education Licensure & Certifications:
- Graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- NJ DEP Diagnostic Radiography License.
- ARRT Certified R.T.(R).
- American Heart Association BLS.
- ARRT CT certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
