Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides and administers all aspects of Respiratory Care Therapy and supportive equipment per department policy.
- Performs respiratory therapy under medical direction, including treatment, diagnostic evaluation, and care for cardiopulmonary deficiencies.
- Assists with intubation and manages ventilator setup.
- Gathers patient-specific data and consults other healthcare professionals as needed.
- Educates patients and caregivers on disease processes and care.
- Maintains communication with medical staff and upholds standards of patient-centered care.
- Lifts minimum of 5 lbs., pushes/pulls 5 lbs., stands at least 1 hour/day.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent – Required.
- Graduate of an accredited program in Respiratory Therapy – Required.
Licensure & Certifications:
- Current and valid New Jersey Respiratory Care License – Required.
- Current and valid New Jersey Registered Respiratory Therapist – Required.
- BLS (AHA) – Required.
- ACLS – Required.
- PALS – Required.
