Job Description
Job Functions:
- Assist in the care of the surgical patient.
- Handles the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure.
- He/she has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon.
- He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.
- Follows instructions of Physicians and RN closely, adhering to established hospital policies related to the Operating Room.
- Maintains a Safe Environment: Practices Standard Precautions at all times.
- Maintains a safe environment in accordance with hospital polices and regulatory agencies.
Education:
- High School Graduate or GED.
- Graduate from an accredited program.
Certifications & Licenses:
- Certified Surgical Technician required.
- RN
Required Skills:
- Must be able to push/pull/lift up to 35lbs.
- Must be able to tolerate long periods of sitting, standing and /or walking.
Minimum Degree Required: Completed High School (Diploma or GED)
Hours Per Week: 37.50
Hours Per Day: 12.50
Days Per Week: 3.00
