Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Job Description

Job Summary:

• The RRT will provide direct patient care services with specific emphasis on pulmonary function testing and initiation of CPAP devices; support requests for continued supply of durable medical equipment such as oxygen concentrators and nebulizers; assist in training on use of inhalers; set up patients with DME equipment; work closely with physicians.

Required Education:

• Co ARC-accredited Respiratory Therapy program – Required.

Required Certifications & Licensure:

• RRT or CRT from NRBC.
• New Jersey Respiratory Therapist license (RCP).
• BLS
• ACLS

Preferred Certifications & Licensure:

• Current Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC), required.
• Active license for Respiratory Therapy in New Jersey, required.
• Basic Life Support certification required.
• Advanced Life Support required within 12 months of hire.

1 year hospital or physician office experience – Required
Computer literacy – Required
Adult critical care, pediatric experience
Required experience – 3 years
Preferred experience – 5 years
