Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist proceduralist during complex diagnostic and interventional vascular, neuro-interventional cases with scrubbing side by side with specialty proceduralist.

Required Education:

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Associate degree.
  • Completion of accredited radiographic program.

Required Certifications & Licensure:

  • NJ radiographic licensure.
  • BLS from an approved AHS credentialed American heart association or a BLS accredited with skill demonstration in basic life support measures.
  • Current Radiography (R) certification with ARRT.
  • Current licensure with the certification with ARRT NJ state.
  • This role is similar to a cardiovascular technologist ( CVT) but MUST have radiographic licensure to operate x-ray fluoroscopic modalities.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience as Interventional Radiologic technologist or a Cardio-Vascular technologist.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge with Floor and ceiling mounted fluoroscopic modality machines.
  • The ability to identify, retrieve, and Circulate complex products during interventional procedural cases.
  • The ability to critically think during neuro-interventional cases and complex cases to assist proceduralist.
  • The ability to operate power injection of iodinated contrast media device during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
  • Strong communication skills using closed loop communication.
  • The ability to maintain sterile technique and maintain infection prevention measures to set up procedural trays for case load.
  • Positively contribute to a multi-disciplinary team of with nurses, radiologist, and vascular surgeons.
  • Knowledge of documentation in electronic medical record and send images to Sectra/PACs system.
  • Groin management post intervention.
  • Demonstrate the ability to provide high quality care in a fast paced environment.

Schedule Notes:

  • Hours would be 8:00am – 6:00p x 4 days a week (Monday-Friday) with a flexible day off.
  • On-call requirements are as follows.
  • Every 4th weekend from 5:00pm on Friday until 7:00am on Monday.
  • 1 evening shift per week from 5:00pm – 7:00am Neuro and scrub assist required in IR/ vascular caseload.
