Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides respiratory therapy under medical direction in the education, treatment, management, diagnostic evaluation, and care of patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies.
- Performs intubation assistance, ventilator setup, and management.
- Gathers information to evaluate patient needs, including disease education, testing, and consultations with healthcare professionals.
- Develops rapport with patients/caregivers and team members to support care goals.
- Educates patients/caregivers based on identified needs in an understandable manner.
- Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned.
- Adheres to organizational competencies and behavior standards.
- Lifts, pushes, and pulls a minimum of 5 lbs; stands a minimum of 1 hour/day.
- Regularly interacts with medical personnel and visitors.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited program in Respiratory Therapy.
Licensure & Certifications:
- Current and valid New Jersey Respiratory Care license.
- Current and valid New Jersey Registered Respiratory Therapist.
- BLS – AHA.
- ACLS.
- PALS.
