Essential Duties:
- Perform rooming and intake processes, including collecting vital signs and patient data.
- Gather patient and family medical and social history.
- Review current medication lists, allergies, and preferred pharmacy information.
- Assist providers during treatments, examinations, and procedures.
- Collect specimens and perform phlebotomy.
- Administer medications as directed by a provider.
- Conduct tests such as EKG and eye exams under provider direction.
- Ensure exam rooms are stocked and ready for use.
- Provide patients with follow-up instructions and educational materials.
- Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of instruments and exam rooms.
- Assist with patient registration, check-in/out, and appointment scheduling.
- Handle clinic telephone inquiries and assist in emergency situations.
- Precept and train new medical assistants and externs.
- Manage clinic supply ordering and perform quality or safety roles as needed.
Education & Certifications:
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program.
- Medical Assistant certification from recognized organizations and Basic Life Support Certification.
Required Skills & Experience:
- OB/GYN experience required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience engaging positively with patients and working as a team.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records.
- Minimum of one year of full-time experience as a Certified Medical Assistant.
Schedule Hours Per Week: 40.00
Schedule Days Per Week: 5.00
