Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Position the patient on the examining table and place the specified coil (receiver) such as a head coil or knee coil close to the area of interest, following protocols requested by the Radiologist.
• Demonstrate the use of a microphone that allows the patient and technologist to communicate during the examination.
• Enter data such as patient history, anatomical area to be scanned, orientation specified, and position of entry into the aperture of MRI equipment into the computer.
• Key commands to specify scan sequences and adjust transmitters and receivers in the computer.
• Observe the patient through the window of the control room and on closed circuit TV to monitor safety and comfort.
• View images of areas being scanned on the video display screen to ensure the quality of pictures.
• Any other duties as assigned.
• Key in data on the keyboard of the camera to photograph images.
• Alert staff entering the magnet room to the danger of wearing or carrying metal around a magnet.

Required Qualifications:

• 2 YEARS EXP REQUIRED, FIRST TIME TRAVELERS — OK!
• Must be registered in MRI with ARRT or ARMRIT
• EPIC required.
• Must have experience with anesthesia, pediatric sedations, ventilator/ICU patients, general pediatric experience with non-sedated patients, and scanning of conditional devices using SAR and/or B1+RMS guidance being able to manipulate parameters to meet conditions for scanning.
