Job Description
Job Summary:
- Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), the incumbent participates in the delivery of patient care to maximize patient outcomes while adhering to the hospital’s mission, values, departmental standards, and professional practice guidelines.
- This role is responsible for ensuring safe, effective patient care throughout surgical procedures through appropriate planning, implementation, and support.
Required Education:
- Graduate of accredited school for surgical technologies.
Required Certifications & Licenses:
- Current certification as a Surgical Technologist.
Preferred Certifications & Licenses:
- Current CPR certification – BLS for Healthcare Providers per the American Heart Association Guidelines Preferred.
Required Experience:
- Prior experience in pediatrics.
- Prior experience as a Surgical Technologist.
Required Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with patients, families, physicians, and multidisciplinary team members.
- Interest in working with children and adolescents with disabilities and their families.
- Ability to work the required schedule, including 10-hour shifts.
- Physically capable of safely transporting patients.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Experience with spine and complex ortho surgical preferred.
