Job Summary:
- Provides healthcare services, applying cross-sectional computed tomography (CT) imaging and all related duties to assist diagnosis or treatment.
- Performs CT procedures, computer processing and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by; or at the request of a licensed practitioner.
- Provides appropriate patient care and recognized patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.
- Acts as a role model for comprehensive care, addressing the physiological, and socio-cultural needs of patients and their families and acts as a resource to other radiology employees in managing complex issues.
- Assures equipment is present and accounted for at the beginning and end of each shift.
Essential Functions:
- Verifies patient’s clinical history, ensuring that information is documented and readily available to the licensed practitioner.
- Completes proper patients identification and order verification.
- Prepares patients for procedures, providing instructions to obtain desired results, Product cooperation, and minimize anxiety.
- Selects proper technical factors and operates equipment and accessories as directed.
- Positions patients and equipment to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort.
- Prepares / administers contrast media and / or medications as per protocol.
- Evaluates images and data for technical quality, manipulates display parameters, and pushes images to picture archiving and communication system (PACS) as the accepted electronic format for permanent patient record, assuring proper patient identification is evident.
- Schedules patients for procedures.
- Assignments are routine; follows established protocols.
- Works under close supervision, seeks guidance where needed; requires some instruction on day-to-day work and resolves routine problems.
- Maintains a clean work environment and communicates any equipment malfunctions to appropriate department/unit personnel.
- Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures where appropriate and completes all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on a timely basis.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Associate’s Degree in Education of Radiologic Technology(JRCERT) Accredited Radiography program Required.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Licenses/Certifications:
- CRT-Radiologic Technologist Registration- American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Sonographer- Upon Hire Required.
- CRT-Radiographer (R) – (ARRT) American Registry of Radiologic Technologist- Upon Hire Required.
- CRT-Computed Tomography (CT) – (ARRT) American Registry of Radiologic Technologist- 1 Year Required.
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) – (AHA) American Heart Association- Upon Hire Required Or
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) – client- Upon Hire Required.
