Respiratory Therapist

Job Description

Job Summary:

• Under general supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, delivers life-support, resuscitation, monitoring and various medical gases therapy to patients.
• Performs invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures to Intensive Care and General Practice Units patients.
• Maintains clinical expertise for Departmental assignments at various business units throughout, as assigned.
• Communicates effectively with patients, co-workers, physicians and other system employees as needed, regarding patient care needs.
• Adequately documents all aspects of patient care.
• Supervises, directs and delegates to Respiratory Therapists, Respiratory orients, externs and students, as assigned. Completes necessary and accurate patient billing information.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Two years of recent Respiratory Therapist experience.
• Required 2+ years experience as a respiratory therapist,.
• Associate of Science Degree, Current ARRT or NBRC registration, current RT licensure, and BLS certification from AHA.
• Candidates that have neonatal intensive care experience would be a plus but it is not required.
• Candidates that have experience working in a Trauma Level 2 facility would be a plus but it is not required.
