Job Summary:
- Under the supervision of the RN and clinical leadership, assists with endoscopy procedures and provides patient care support before, during, and after procedures.
- Responsible for equipment preparation, specimen handling, and maintaining a safe procedural environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians and RNs during endoscopic procedures.
- Support pre-, intra-, and post-procedure patient care.
- Monitor patients and obtain vital signs as directed.
- Prepare, troubleshoot, clean, and disinfect endoscopy equipment.
- Collect and label specimens accurately.
- Assist with patient positioning and transport.
- Maintain procedure rooms and equipment readiness.
- Perform instrument reprocessing and high-level disinfection.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- BLS Certification.
- Experience with advanced procedures:
- EBUS.
- Bronchoscopy.
- EUS.
- ERCP.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Medical Assistant, Surgical Tech, or EMT training.
- Endoscopy equipment and instrument reprocessing experience.
- 2+ years of healthcare experience in a similar setting.
