Job Description
Duties:
- Provides mammography imaging services.
Responsibilities:
- Operates equipment and performs various mammography related procedures. Prepares and positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
- Explains procedures and educates patients about the role of regular mammography in preventive breast health.
- Develops and evaluates the film for technical quality such as density contrast, definition, and
distortion. - Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
- Ensures prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality,
correct lead markers and patient data/history). - Ensures equipment is properly functioning. Reports potential problems or equipment malfunction to
appropriate personnel. - Assists in maintaining a clean, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas,
dressing rooms, film storage area and any other areas in department.
Complexity of Work:
- Within Product of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate’s degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Skills:
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or client accepted.
One or more of the following:
- Radiologic Technologist specializing in Mammography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer
date. - Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography
(ARDMS) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.

- Interview or Auto Offer: Interview # of Openings: 1 Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Additional Skills/Information: Must have at least one year of experience as a Mammography Technologist. Candidate must have worked in a comprehensive breast center and be proficient in mammographic scanning. Experience with bone density scanning is also preferred.

Hours Per Day: 8.00
