Job Description
Job Summary:
- Under general supervision, performs CT imaging procedures to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
- May also perform general diagnostic radiology exams while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and adherence to radiation protection standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform CT scans and diagnostic imaging procedures.
- Prepare, position, and educate patients before examinations.
- Review physician orders and patient history to ensure appropriate imaging.
- Administer IV contrast media and monitor for adverse reactions.
- Assist radiologists during advanced procedures, including biopsies.
- Operate CT equipment while following ALARA radiation safety principles.
- Complete accurate PACS/RIS documentation and ensure image quality.
- Maintain imaging equipment, procedure rooms, and required supplies.
- Transport patients to and from the Emergency Department as needed.
- Deliver excellent patient care while following departmental protocols and quality standards.
Required Education:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
- Associate’s Degree in Applied Science in Radiology.
- Must maintain required hours of continued medical education.
Required Certification & Licensure:
- BLS
- Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) and the advanced registry in Computed Tomography (CT) or registry-eligible.
Skills & Experience:
- Must have peripheral IV insertion experience or be willing to obtain training.
- At least 1 years experience in Hospital Setting required.
- Prior experience working in a fast paced environment and independently.
- Strong people skills, good communicator.
- Will be responsible for transporting patients to and from ED.
- Commitment to exceptional customer service and teamwork.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Prior experience in a high-volume acute care hospital.
- Experience transporting patients within a hospital setting.
