Phlebotomist

Job Description

Job Summary:

• Under general supervision and according to specified procedures, performs routine laboratory activities such as patient receiving, venipuncture, computer data entry, and other related duties including lab clinical functions.

Required Education:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.

Preferred Education:

• Completion of Medical Assistant or Certified Phlebotomy training program preferred.

Required Certification & Licensure:

• Must have a valid, unrestricted Michigan Driver’s license and the ability to be insured by a client Insurance Carrier.
• Phlebotomy Cert strongly preferred

Required Skills & Experience:

• 6 months to one year on the job experience in venipuncture required.
• Must have at least a year of experience
• Must have prior experience with LIS (Lab information system) experience
• Previous computer experiences preferred.

Schedule Notes: 

• Every other weekend required.
• 5-8’s with one position 4:00am – 12:30pm.
• Second position 5:00am – 1:30pm.
• Third position 2:30pm – 11:00pm.

Schedule Hours Per Week: 40.00
Schedule Hours Per Day: 8.00
Schedule Days Per Week: 5.00
