Surgical Technician
Job Description
Job Summary:
- Under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse and Surgical Team members, responsible for handling surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment during general surgical procedures.
- Ensures understanding of the assigned procedure and anticipates the needs of the surgical team.
- Also provides support with patient preparation, patient transport, building services, and assisting the surgical care team with specific patient care duties to meet safety and comfort needs.
- Responds to emergent situations according to established procedures.
Required Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Education:
- Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Technology program (preferred, not required).
Required Certification & Licensure:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS/BLS).
Required Experience:
- Minimum 1+ years of strong recent Surgical Technologist (ST) experience.
- Strong experience in orthopedic and neuro.
