Job Description

Job Summary:

  • Performs CT (computed tomography) scans and may assist with general radiology procedures.
  • Ensures high-quality imaging, patient safety, and accurate documentation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and educate patients for imaging procedures.
  • Review clinical information and perform appropriate CT scans.
  • Operate CT equipment to capture accurate diagnostic images.
  • Administer IV contrast and monitor patients for reactions.
  • Assist radiologists with complex procedures (e.g., biopsies).
  • Maintain procedure rooms and ensure supplies are stocked.
  • Follow radiation safety standards (ALARA principles).
  • Manage imaging records in PACS and RIS systems.
  • Ensure accurate documentation for clinical and billing purposes.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and care teams.
  • Deliver high standards of patient care and customer service.

Education & Certifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • ARRT certification (CT or CT-eligible) required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Ongoing continuing education required.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Strong communication and patient care skills.
  • Team-oriented with flexibility and willingness to learn.
  • Knowledge of CT imaging, radiation safety, and hospital systems.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism.

Work Environment:

  • Hospital or mobile imaging unit.
  • Exposure to radiation and contagious patients (with safety precautions).
  • May require lifting patients/equipment.
