Medical Assistant

Job Description

Job Summary:

• Assists with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with treatments ordered by the physician under the supervision of a physician or registered nurse.
• Perform select clinical duties.
• Interview patients, measure vital signs, and record information in patient charts.
• Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations.
• Perform basic clerical duties including answering phones, maintaining records, and filing.
• Perform basic materials management tasks such as ordering and stocking supplies.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly environment.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follow Standard Precautions and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent OR
  Minimum of 1 year of applicable job-related experience.
  Required professional licensure or certification may substitute for education or experience, if applicable.
  Skills & Requirements:

Licensure / Certification:

• BLS (Basic Life Support) Provider Certification required.
• MA (Medical Assistant) certification preferred.

Complexity of Work:

• Requires critical thinking skills and sound judgment.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to perform effectively in a fast-paced or stressful environment.

Assignment Details:

• EMR System: Epic (preferred)

Hours per Week: 40, Hours per Day: 8, Days per Week: 5
