Job Summary:
- Assists with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a Physician or Advanced Practice Provider.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with treatments as ordered by the provider and supervised by the provider or a registered nurse.
- Perform select clinical duties.
- Interview patients, measure vital signs, and document patient information in medical charts.
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations.
- Perform basic clerical duties, including answering phones, maintaining records, and filing.
- Manage supplies by ordering, stocking, and maintaining inventory.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.
- Document provider-patient encounters, including diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions as directed.
- Transcribe patient orders, including laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) year of applicable cumulative, job-specific experience.
Licensure / Certification:
- BLS Provider certification (American Heart Association).
- Medical Assistant certification (any issuing authority accepted).
Skills & Work Complexity:
- Requires critical thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to function effectively in a fast-paced, stressful environment.
- Personal Protective Equipment.
- Follows Standard Precautions and uses appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
