Job Description
Job Summary:
- Under the general supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, delivers life-support, resuscitation, monitoring, and medical gas therapy to patients.
- Performs invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures for Intensive Care and General Practice Unit patients.
- Maintains clinical expertise for departmental assignments across various business units as assigned.
- Communicates effectively with patients, physicians, co-workers, and other staff regarding patient care needs.
- Accurately documents all aspects of patient care and completes required patient billing information.
- Supervises, directs, and delegates responsibilities to Respiratory Therapists, orients, externs, and students as assigned.
Required Education:
- Associate of Science Degree, from an accredited Respiratory Therapist program.
- Preferred Education:
- Bachelors in Respiratory Therapy preferred.
Required Certification & Licensure:
- Registration with the National Board of Respiratory Care.
- Current License – Respiratory Therapist in the State of Michigan.
- BLS
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of recent Respiratory Therapist experience.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Unit Assignment:
- Adult ICU or Neonatal ICU (assigned to one unit).
Facility Size:
- 500-bed facility.
Interview:
- In-person or phone (30 minutes).
Schedule Hours Per Week: 40.00
Schedule Hours Per Day: 8.00
Schedule Days Per Week: 5.00
