Phlebotomist

Job Description

Job Summary:

• Under general supervision and in accordance with established procedures, performs routine laboratory activities including patient registration, venipuncture, computer data entry, and other related clinical laboratory functions.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Receive and register patients.
• Perform venipuncture and blood specimen collection.
• Enter patient and specimen data into the computer system.
• Conduct routine laboratory clinical support functions.
• Round within the clinic to collect specimens and transport them to the main laboratory.
• Draw approximately 20–25 tubes per session as required.

Required Education:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.

Preferred Education:

• Completion of a Medical Assistant or Certified Phlebotomy training program.

Required Certifications & Licensure:

• Valid, unrestricted Michigan Driver’s License.
• Must be insurable by Client Insurance Carrier.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 6 months to 1 year of on-the-job venipuncture experience required.
• Minimum of 5 years of overall experience preferred per manager.
• Previous computer experience preferred.

Interview Process:

• 30-minute in-person interview (manager will provide onsite walkthrough of responsibilities),
