Job Description
Job Summary:
- Under general supervision, performs routine and complex analytical procedures on blood and other body fluids or specimens.
- This includes both manual testing and the use of laboratory instruments and information systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform laboratory testing using manual and automated techniques.
- Analyze blood and other specimens accurately and efficiently.
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Ensure quality control and adherence to laboratory standards.
- Document and report test results in laboratory information systems.
- Follow safety, infection control, and regulatory guidelines.
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or Clinical Laboratory Science.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, or Biology (with relevant coursework aligned to the role)
International education must be evaluated by a NACES-approved credentialing agency.
Required Certifications & Licensure:
- Certification from a recognized national agency (ASCP or NCA).
Preferred Certifications & Licensure:
- Technologist-level certification from ASCP, NCA, ASM, AABB, or equivalent.
Required Experience:
- Minimum 6 months of experience in a medical laboratory setting.
- Strong technical proficiency and theoretical knowledge of lab procedures.
Preferred Experience:
- 2–3 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with laboratory equipment (AU system preferred).
- Experience with Sunquest LIS and lab automation.
Additional Details:
- 13-week contract
- Candidates must meet all education, certification, and experience requirements.
- Experience with client-specific equipment is highly preferred.
