Medical Lab Technologist

Job Description

Job Summary:

• Under general supervision, performs routine and complex analytical procedures on blood and other body fluids or specimens.
• This includes both manual testing and the use of laboratory instruments and information systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform laboratory testing using manual and automated techniques.
• Analyze blood and other specimens accurately and efficiently.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Ensure quality control and adherence to laboratory standards.
• Document and report test results in laboratory information systems.
• Follow safety, infection control, and regulatory guidelines.

Required Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or Clinical Laboratory Science.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, or Biology (with relevant coursework aligned to the role)
  International education must be evaluated by a NACES-approved credentialing agency.

Required Certifications & Licensure:

• Certification from a recognized national agency (ASCP or NCA).

Preferred Certifications & Licensure:

• Technologist-level certification from ASCP, NCA, ASM, AABB, or equivalent.

Required Experience:

• Minimum 6 months of experience in a medical laboratory setting.
• Strong technical proficiency and theoretical knowledge of lab procedures.

Preferred Experience:

• 2–3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with laboratory equipment (AU system preferred).
• Experience with Sunquest LIS and lab automation.

Additional Details:

• 13-week contract
• Candidates must meet all education, certification, and experience requirements.
• Experience with client-specific equipment is highly preferred.
