Job Description
Job Summary:
- Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures performs diagnostic MR exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment and techniques.
- Follows Client philosophy of Patient and Family Centered Care at all times.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Verifies patient identification and physician order, and performs quality MR Scans.
- Provides procedural information/education to the patient/family prior to each exam.
- Acquires an accurate patient history and documents in the medical record.
- Places IVs as required for injection of contrast media.
- Performs procedures according to MR protocol.
- Ensures MRI safety form is completed by patient/designee/floor RN and reviews information with patient/designee immediately prior to patient entering MRI scanning room.
- Safely and proficiently operates MR imaging equipment and monitors patient during examination to ensure their safety while in the MR Suite.
- Performs MRI and related patient care procedures using age-appropriate methods for patient’s physical ability and/or limitations.
- Ensures equipment is wiped down between patients and exam room is clean and properly stocked with linen and supplies.
- Uses effective inter/intra-departmental communication and participation with medical staff, management, technical and support staff.
- Accurately and efficiently uses hospital computer systems for verifying orders, viewing schedules and sending information to PACS.
Education and Experience:
- Required Associate’s Degree or equivalent In related field required.
- 1 year of relevant experience 1-3 years clinical experience beyond staff radiographer level. Preferred
License and Certifications:
- CRT-American Registry Of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (MRI) – ARMRIT American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists Certification Upon Hire preferred.
- CRT-Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (MRI) – ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Certification Upon Hire required.
- CRT-Radiation Therapist – ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Upon Hire required.
- CRT-Radiographer (R) – ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Upon Hire required.
- CRT-Sonographer (S) – ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Upon Hire required.
- CRT-Sonographer (S) – ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography Upon Hire required.
- CRT-Nuc Med Technologist (N) – ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Upon Hire required.
- CRT-Nuclear Medicine Technologist – NMTCB Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board Upon Hire required.
- CRT-Vascular Technologist (VT) – ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography Upon Hire required.
- CRT-Musculoskeletal (MSK) – ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography Upon Hire required And CRT-Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (MRI) – ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Board Registry Certification 1 Year required.
- CRT-American Registry Of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (MRI) – ARMRIT American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists Board Registry Certification 1 Year required And CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required.
