Job Summary:
- Under general supervision, performs routine and complex laboratory testing on blood, body fluids, and other specimens using manual techniques, laboratory instruments, and laboratory information systems to support accurate patient diagnosis and treatment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and complex laboratory testing on blood and body fluid specimens.
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and information systems.
- Analyze and interpret test results accurately.
- Follow laboratory quality control, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of laboratory results.
Required Education:
- Completion of accredited Bachelor’s Degree program in medical technology, medical laboratory sciences, or clinical laboratory sciences.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, or Biology may be considered if completed coursework aligns with the duties of the specific Medical Technologist position.
- Coursework completed outside of the US must be verified by a NACES approved credential evaluation service.
Preferred Certification & Licensure:
- Certification at the technologist level from a nationally recognized agency, such as ASCP, NCA, ASM, AABB, ACS, or HEW is preferred.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 6 months of experience in a medical laboratory setting.
- Demonstrated technical proficiency and knowledge of laboratory procedures.
