Job Description
Job Summary:
- Assists with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a provider (Physician or Advanced Practice Provider).
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists with treatments ordered by provider as supervised by provider or registered nurse.
- Performs select clinical duties.
- Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patients’ charts.
- Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
- Performs basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing.
- Performs basic materials management functions to include ordering and stocking of supplies.
- Assists with maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
- May document the provider’s encounter with patients.
- Lists all proper diagnoses and symptoms, as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions, as indicated by the provider.
- Transcribes patient orders including, but not limited to, laboratory tests, radiology tests and medications.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
- Must be experienced in vaccines, EKG, procedure prep, venti puncture, monitoring vitals and injections.
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- BLS Provider, American Heart Association.
- Medical Assistant certification, Any issuing authority accepted.
Complexity of Work:
- Within Product of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Schedule Notes:
- Duration: 13 weeks, Temp to hire Opportunity.
- Rotating shifts assigned to the physician’s schedule.
- One late night per week.
Schedule Hours Per Week: 40.00
Schedule Hours Per Day: 8.00
Schedule Days Per Week: 5.00
